DUNI
Development of a multi-use system for takeaways
Duni wanted to complement its disposable products with a circular, reusable concept. The challenge was to design, test and validate Idun, a complete system for food and drink packaging designed to be reused as many times as possible.

Solution
Xvii led the development and testing of the concept:
- Ongoing development of the product range
- Design and implementation of business experiments
- Project management and operational responsibility for the pilot project with Liseberg
- Participation in pilot projects at the Malmö Festival, Aarhus University and the Climate People’s Assembly
- Development of processes, procedures and quality assurance
- Input regarding choice of materials and collaboration with suppliers
Real benefits
Results
The test laid the foundations for Duni’s continued focus on circular solutions and its positioning within sustainable foodservice. The project generated crucial insights into the system’s:
Customers’
willingness to use the system
Technical
and operational feasibility
Business-minded
commercial potential and scalability
“Everything we do is rooted in circularity. Our pilot project at the Malmö Festival marked the start of our journey to drive positive change. We were looking forward to collaborating with local businesses, festival-goers and decision-makers to demonstrate the potential of our solutions in creating a more sustainable future.”
Erland Riis Lavsen,
former Head of Circularity at Duni
